It was another busy week in the Forest. To get ready for the R.S.P.B ‘Big Schools Bird watch’ Early years made some Pine cone bird feeders using vegetable suet, raisins, cheese and seeds. Everyone enjoyed mixing up the ingredients then rolling their Pines cones in and hanging them up. During the remainder of the week, Classes helped celebrate a Pines Forest ‘Wassail’ a ceremony normally used to wake apple trees. Classes made Forest crowns using evergreen Holly and Ivy, threaded toast to toast the tress and made a Hullabaloo to wake the trees using pots and pans. We toasted bread over the fire which we enjoyed with our Hot Chocolate. 3L continued to decorate their Greek shields and threaded cheerio’s for the birds. 3R had a turn at making their own Fairy Fires and made some stick frames, which they then used to frame their favourite view of the Forest.
