The last two weeks have flown by in the Forest. Classes have enjoyed a mix of weather and lots of different activities from worm exploration to making Cheese toasties. During our Duke of Edinburgh days, pupils taking part cooked over the campfire and learnt new tool skills using a hand drill to make keyrings. We celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday by making a huge 100 collage using items found in the forest. 3R made their own fairy fires using the flint and steel and 4L whittled Forest wands. Metal detectors were also used this week in the digging pit to see to see what treasure could be found. We have also welcomed a family of Blue Tits into the Forest. Classes have enjoyed watching Mum and Dad going backwards and forwards to the nest box and quietly listening to the chicks. We set up a camera to take some pictures without disturbing them.
