It’s been a wet two weeks in the Forest but we haven’t let that dampen our spirits. Lot’s of fun has been had by classes making rivers, Dams, splashing in puddles and enjoying and endless supply of mud. When we haven’t been soaking up the rain classes have celebrated ‘Squirrel Appreciation Day’ exploring information about Squirrels and decorating Squirrels.
This week we also woke the Forest up by having our very own Pines ‘Wassail’ classes banged pots and pans to wake the trees and gave traditional offerings of bread. Early Years didn’t want the trees to have all the bread so toasted some on the campfire and enjoyed some hot buttered toast. Classes also used coloured paints to print new bunting to decorate the trees once they are awake. 2D made good use of the winter sun by producing brilliant solar pictures on cyantype paper while 2S enjoyed mark making in the mud while 2A decorated their own Oak tree.
